DHL Supply Chain will begin ground handling operations at London Gatwick Airport for EasyJet on 1 November, replacing Menzies Aviation.
EasyJet said that all three parties would be focusing on “a seamless transition over the coming months… enabling affected staff to move over to DHL” adding that Menzies remained a strategic partner and would continue to be its biggest handling partner.
Paul Dyer, chief executive , DHL Supply Chain UK & Ireland, (pictured) said: “This transformational contract will see us support EasyJet in delivering core customer service and logistics operations including passenger arrival and bag-drop, baggage sortation, boarding gate marshalling aircraft loading and unloading, as well as management of other service providers.”
DHL will handle over nine million departing EasyJet passengers per year.
Recently, DHL has extended contracts with retailers Next and Nisa as well as opening a Bristol DC for The Range.
